This paper introduces the SDG-CLP framework, which integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into English language teaching (ELT) through critical language pedagogy (CLP). While English is widely taught for academic purposes, its potential to advance the sustainability agenda remains underexplored, particularly within the Malaysian context. Drawing on the principles of CLP, the framework conceptualises language classrooms as dialogic spaces where learners develop both linguistic proficiency and sustainability literacy. Organised around three phases, namely familiarisation, engagement, and action, the framework positions English as a medium for questioning, analysing, and addressing sustainability issues in meaningful ways. Examples are provided to illustrate how SDG-linked activities can be embedded across language tasks that develop receptive, productive, and interactive skills. The framework offers teachers practical guidance to empower learners as agents of change and contribute to sustainable futures.
